Welcome to our Reading Tree! To encourage reading at home we have introduced the children to our new reading tree. Your child will be able to climb
up the reading tree daily, if they read at home. Please ensure you read with your child daily, sign their books and bring their reading folder back into school the next day. Our TAs will look at the reading folders each day and children will be able to move their names up if they have read at home. If your child reads every day and is on the number 5 they will be rewarded with a special treat on the Friday. After speaking to the children, they would like their special treats to include, extra play, games on the Ipads, playing on the bikes, painting and making cakes!
Thank you for your continued support.
In Year One this term we have been making houses during our DT week. This is also cross curricular with our book in English this term ‘Peace at Last.’ We each made a booklet to plan our houses and write what our houses would include. We then drew our houses based on what we thought they would look like. We used cardboard, tape and glue to construct our houses and then we painted them during our Art lesson.
Here you will find lots of extra information to support your child in Year 1
