Year 1 Remembrance Poetry

Last week, we visited the Cenotaph at Portsmouth Guildhall and laid our poppy wreath in remembrance of all the soldiers that died in the war. We took time to talk about how they had given up their lives and how these people would have left families behind. We also read some of the names of the soldiers who had come from Portsmouth. Today we wrote our own class poem in remembrance of the soldiers and performed it, highlighting how thankful we were.

Thank you for saving our lives,

Thank you for making a safe world,

Thank you for being heroes,

Thank you for protecting our country,

Thank you, soldiers.
